Anna Kanopatskaya: "I have enough for the life that I would like to offer my voters." Anna Kanopatskaya: "I have enough for the life that I would like to offer my voters" - You graduated from the Faculty of Law of BSU, right

The first Belarusian dollar millionaire Anatoly Trukhanovich recently celebrated his 70th birthday. How did he earn his first capital and what business is he doing now? Trukhanovich told reporters about this Naviny. by who looked into Anatoly Ivanovich's office.

First million

Anatoly Trukhanovich was born in Polissya - in the village of Zaprosye, Luninets district. His father worked all his life as a rural teacher, and his mother ran the household. After school, he served in the army, and then entered the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at the Belarusian State University.

At the age of 30 he became the director of the computer center at the Institute of Technology, at the age of 39 - the deputy CEO research and production association "Belmedbioprom".

When in the second half of the 80s in the Soviet Union they began to pass laws aimed at developing a business initiative, Anatoly Trukhanovich decided to go into business.

“I clearly understood that this was an opportunity to become a capitalist, a millionaire. At that time there were no other goals. Well, I was an active person too.”- says the entrepreneur.

His first business was selling fur. In 1988, he opened a mink and arctic fox farm. The then scarce goods sold well on the domestic market. Profitability reached 300-400%. In 1990, Anatoly Trukhanovich was the first in Belarus to legally earn a million dollars after paying taxes. A large article was devoted to this in July 1991 by the newspaper "Republic".

Business in the 90s and 2000s

Then, however, the government introduced an excise tax on fur, and Anatoly Trukhanovich curtailed this business. He began to assemble computers from components and sell them, was engaged in the production of computer tables, placing orders at Belarusian factories, and was also the first in the country to establish the production of seals.

“In the 90s, there were more choices. Today, many niches are occupied"- notes the businessman.

He says that qualities such as hard work and the ability to adapt helped him to successfully run a business in those years.

“All the time like at the front. Yesterday was like this, today is different. The course is changing, prices are changing, the rules of doing business are changing. All this had to be taken into account and be able to adapt to the situation. And you had to be hardworking. I slept for three or four hours. It's even hard to believe."- says Anatoly Trukhanovich.

Later, he entered the pharmaceutical industry. He imported foreign medicines and sold them in Belarus. With the money he earned, he bought unfinished buildings at auctions, finished them and sold them to businessmen as pharmacies, shops and a fitness center.

“I replicated a lot of businesses and sold to my colleagues” says the businessman.

Thus, he contributed to the emergence of 17 legal millionaires in the country. One of them - Vladimir Yanushko, who now holds the position of First Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs of the Amkodor holding.

business now

Today, Anatoly Trukhanovich's main assets are the Pukhovichi Bakery Plant, which produces animal feed and premixes, as well as poultry farms in Stolin and Ivenets. They are testing the technology for the production of environmentally friendly products. In particular, the use of antibiotics is minimized there, birds are fed with natural feed and kept free-range.

Anatoly Trukhanovich welcomes the recently adopted package of documents aimed at liberating business initiative and sees progress in improving the conditions for doing business in Belarus.

“It seems to me that our government already understands who is primary in society. This is a person who creates added value.”- notes the entrepreneur.

At the same time, he points out that in Belarus there are still no equal conditions for private and state enterprises.

“For example, the regional executive committee allocates subsidies for the production of feed for dairy cows, but these orders are placed only for state enterprises or more of them. And they are from the area where my feed mill is located, travel a hundred kilometers, spend on transport more money, while could have made an order from me. This difference works at a loss. And no one is responsible. That is, budget money is spent on imaginary housekeeping and causes damage. And there is no government control here.”, - Anatoly Trukhanovich laments.

He also says that Belarus is still a country with a high tax burden for businesses.

“In the 90s, I paid 300 thousand taxes, and I have more than a million left. Today I pay several million dollars in taxes and have nothing myself. This suggests that today our tax system is fiscal. It does not allow to develop and takes money from more or less successful ones. Without removing the tax burden, we will never be attractive for investment.”, - notes the entrepreneur, who also heads the Belarusian Union of Taxpayers.

About hobbies and family

From work, Anatoly Trukhanovich is resting on the hunt. Also loves to read. Basically, time remains only for business literature, but sometimes he rereads the classics.

The entrepreneur has two daughters - Daria and Anna. One of Trukhanovich's companies, created back in the 90s, is called ADL - after the first letters of the names of his daughters and wife: Anna, Daria and Lyudmila.

Daria is now helping her father develop the business. Anna was also engaged in business, but is known to a wide circle as a member of parliament. It's about Anna Kanopatskaya.

“Most of all, I am proud that she is not indifferent, delves into everything, lives the life of her country”- says Anatoly Trukhanovich.

He believes that he achieved a lot in his life precisely because he always worried about the country.

The famous building Manezhnaya Square went to the owners of the largest Moscow electronics market "Gorbushkin Dvor".

The Moskva Hotel (more precisely, the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow - that's what the hotel is now called) has changed owners. And it passed from the control of the structures of Suleiman Kerimov to the Belarusian "kings of real estate" Yuri and Alexei Khotin.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but, according to market experts, such an object, even taking into account the crisis, cannot cost less than $160 million. This purchase can be called the deal of the year.

In the last couple of years, transactions with Moscow commercial real estate of this price category are rare. Investors from far abroad have practically stopped investing in Moscow hotels. Those new buyers that are - mainly from the CIS countries.

Khotin to "Moscow" approached in stages. In August 2015, we acquired the Fashion Season shopping gallery, which now occupies the first three floors of Moscow (from the 4th floor and above - the hotel itself). Now the entire building is at the disposal of Belarusian investors.

Four Seasons Hotel Moscow is considered the best new hotel in the CIS countries. In a rebuilt form after ten years of reconstruction, the hotel opened only in 2014. Moreover, as experts note, there are no questions about the quality of the work performed.

The famous hotel "Moskva" passed into the hands of new owners - Belarusians Khotins.

The new building meets all modern ideas about a luxury hotel in terms of equipment and comfort. Rooms - from 40 sq. m, and these are the smallest. The bathrooms have marble panels, the suites have special smoke-free fireplaces and infrared saunas. The "presidential" suite is generally amazing: three bedrooms, a living room overlooking Red Square, a veranda overlooking the Kremlin. And a separate entrance from the street - guests can enter and exit unnoticed by staff and other hotel guests.

Plus - a unique story: the former hotel "Moskva", opened in 1935, was known not only to all of Moscow, but to the entire Soviet Union. After the old hotel was demolished in Luzhkov's times and a new one was built, the historical appearance of the building was partially preserved, maintaining the style of constructivism of the 1930s. Elements of this style are also included in the interiors - this is one of the chips.

Prices, however, correspond - the hotel is considered one of the most expensive in Moscow. A day will cost from 33.5 thousand Russian rubles to almost 240 thousand Russian rubles per person.

How much is it now possible to attract guests who are willing to pay that kind of money, and how quickly will the purchase pay off? Experts say that this is not the question. Such purchases are not made for a quick profit. This is a long-term investment in a place, in prestige.

And find an object commercial real estate with an equally good location in relation to the Kremlin and Red Square is impossible. That is, of course, there is also GUM, it is generally located on Red Square. But GUM is not put up for sale. Crises come and go, and a place near Red Square and the Kremlin is unlikely to ever depreciate.

OPINION

Anatoly Trukhanovich, businessman, director of the Scientific and Industrial Enterprise "ADL", chairman public association"Belarusian Union of Taxpayers":

- Khotins are serious businessmen, real estate in the center of Moscow is both prestigious and profitable. The Russian capital is one of the centers of world tourism and an expensive city, so the investment will pay off. In the place where the hotel "Moscow" stands, they cannot but pay off.

And it doesn’t matter that before that Khotins were not engaged hotel business. They are looking for new areas and forms of activity. If you are in the same niche, you can simply burn out when the market changes.

What else do Khotins in Moscow own

The iconic Moscow "Gorbushka" - shopping center Gorbushkin Dvor near the Bagrationovskaya metro station is also under Belarusian control. It was purchased by the father and son of Khotin in 2011. At the same time, another largest Moscow shopping center located in the neighborhood, Filion, also went to them. The total amount of this transaction (Gorbushka plus Filion) was estimated by experts at $400-500 million.

In general, the Belarusians of Khotin are considered one of the largest Moscow developers. In total, through affiliated companies, they control about 1.8 million square meters. m of office and retail space in Moscow, including business centers Cherry Tower (Novye Cheryomushki metro station), Krasny Bogatyr (Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad metro station), Nizhegorodsky (Nizhegorodskaya street in the north of Moscow). In the rating of "kings of Russian real estate" for 2014, Forbes ranked the Belarusian family in tenth place (annual rental income is $ 320 million).

EXPANSION IN NEIGHBORHOOD

Oil, tablets and parts

Large businessmen from Belarus have long and successfully mastered the Russian expanses, acquiring or creating their assets here.

Valery Shumsky, a native of Vileyka, a graduate of the energy department of the Belarusian Polytechnic University, was one of the first to find oil outside of Belarus. In 2002, he bought oil companies in the Saratov region - Bogorodskneft and Povolzhskneft, which are part of his main business - the independent oil-producing holding Yukola-Neft. Today, Yukola-Neft occupies a prominent place in the regional market. Over the past three years alone, the company has produced 652,000 tons of oil from the fields of the Saratov region. In February of this year, a well was discovered at the Vasilkovskoye field in the Dukhovnitsky district. Last year, the company won a tender for the development of the first site in the Samara region. Yukola-neft also owns a 21-kilometer oil pipeline.

One of the most iconic last years was a deal in the fish processing market. The Belarusian enterprise Santa Bremor, which is controlled by businessman Alexander Moshensky, bought the Russian Sea for $52 million. The main asset of the acquired company is a factory for the production of fish and seafood preserves in Noginsk near Moscow. (Read more about this in one of the upcoming issues of "SV".)

The Belarusian company Amkodor, the largest manufacturer of road construction and municipal equipment in the CIS, headquartered in Minsk, acquired the Bryansk plant Energozapchast a few years ago. Owner - Alexander Shakutin. Thanks, among other things, to this deal, Amkodor has become the largest owner of assets outside of Belarus.

The Belarusian company ASBIS, founded back in 1990 by Sergei Kostevich, today is one of the key players on the market

IT-technologies in Russia. Constantly increasing momentum. In 2011, it began selling tablet computers, and since 2012, smartphones under its own brand Prestigio. GPS-navigator Prestigio ranked first in sales in Russia with a market share of 28.5%.

It was difficult to collect information about the newly elected deputy in open sources. It is known that Anna was born on October 29, 1976. According to her Facebook profile, she graduated from school No. 55 on Nadezhdinskaya Street in Minsk. The secretariat of the school confirmed this information, they are happy with Anna's success, but they can’t tell anything about their former student: “Those teachers are no longer at school.”

Anna Konopatskaya graduated from the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University. It has own business, director of Greenray LLC, which provides legal services. It was not possible to find reviews on the activities of Anna's company, but it is known that Greenray received a license for the right to provide legal services back in 2005.

Against the background of many other candidates, and especially opposition ones, Anna Kanopatskaya declared a significantly larger profit last year - 293,802,204 rubles. She also has an apartment and a car. According to Radio Liberty, Anna drives a white Nissan, one of the latest models.

In her campaign speech, Anna repeatedly said that she had two "beautiful" children. According to Radio Liberty, Anna does not live together with the father of the children. And at school we were looking for Anna under her maiden name - Trukhanovich.

“I am from an ordinary intelligent family,” Anna described her origin. He says that dad was the head of the computer technology laboratory at BNTU. And my mother, "an economist by education, worked at a vegetable base." Now, according to Anna, "dad is engaged in private business, mom is a housewife."

Anna's father - Anatoly Ivanovich Trukhanovich - "Narodnaya Volya" calls "a legal Belarusian millionaire." True, the grounds for such a characterization are not disclosed. Anna herself, in an interview with Gleb Lobodenko, joked that "every Belarusian can be called a millionaire."

It is alleged that Anatoly Trukhanovich refused the state pension because it is "too small", and he himself "attracted investments worth a million dollars to the country."

Anatoly Trukhanovich was once the chairman of the Union of Entrepreneurs. "Soviet Belarus" still regularly invites him for their publications as an expert. So, in 2015, he commented on the acquisition of the Moskva Hotel in Moscow by the Belarusian brothers-businessmen Khotin. The pro-government newspaper presents Trukhanovich as the director of the Scientific and Industrial Enterprise "ADL" and the chairman of the public association "Belarusian Union of Taxpayers".

So far, no one has answered the public association's phone. And about the company t; ADL "Google provides the following information: founded in 1994, it supplies equipment, technologies and integrated solutions for the main sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The head office is in Kyiv, there are representative offices in Kramatorsk.

“I don’t know exactly what he was doing, but he had money, and a lot of it,” ex-deputy Sergei Skrebets says about Trukhanovich.

It is known that Trukhanovich is friends with ex-Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Chigir. To find out more about the family of deputy Kanopatskaya, we called him, and it turned out that Mikhail Nikolayevich even participated in her election campaign.

“I know her very well. I think that the person is persistent, stubborn, like his father, - says Mikhail Chigir. “I think such a person will benefit Parliament.”

“For me, her election is somewhat unexpected,” says the ex-premier. He is convinced that in the case of Kanopatskaya, the election commission counted the votes fairly. He believes that the fact that her program was published in Vecherniy Minsk played a positive role in Anna's election. As for her rival, Tatyana Korotkevich, who only recently took part in the presidential campaign, she "doesn't want to." He says that he used to lean towards her, but after that “he began to think about her differently.”

Mikhail Nikolaevich has only a good opinion about the daughter of his old friend. “She actively worked during the election campaign,” says Mikhail Chigir. “I was with her at the pickets, she was active, people came up, collected signatures.”

Chigir also positively looks at the parliamentary future of Anna Konopatskaya. He believes that there will be more than two opposition deputies in this parliament.

“Many deputies, when they find out what is happening, when they listen to others, there will be much more opposition ones,” Mikhail Nikolayevich is sure.

But the deputy of the House of Representatives of the 2nd convocation, Sergei Skrebets, who, after his deputy, was convicted of “swindling loans” and completely lost his business, has a completely different opinion:

“A businessman in parliament is very easy to control,” he said. - If he misbehaves, it is easy to take away his business, as happened to me. Confiscate property and even put them in jail. In my example, this was clearly visible.”

Skrebets believes that the presence of Konopatskaya's business is the criterion according to which she was "elected" to parliament. Plus, "she's a woman," he says:

“And a woman is easier to control, easier to scare. Therefore, Gaidukevich Jr. was not given a move, since he is poorly controlled, Skrabets argues. “If she presses the wrong button, not only her business, but also the business of her father, her friends may be at risk ... ”

“If the authorities “thrown ballots” for her, then I feel sorry for her,” concludes Skrebets. - For this, other services will be required from her. She's going to have tough choices coming up soon."

Anna Kanopatskaya is one of two oppositionists who entered the parliament. She is 39 years old, she is from Minsk, raises two children, runs a law firm and makes good money, has been a member of the United Civil Party since 1995, ran for parliament for the second time. Nevertheless, the victory in the elections came as a surprise to her. In an interview with TUT.BY, the newly-made deputy told why investors are defenseless in Belarus, how to make the court independent, why teachers hold on to a salary of 5 million, why Belarusians need insurance medicine and why she does not need deputy privileges.

- You graduated from the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University, right?

Yes, I am a lawyer by profession. I studied in 1993-1998. It was a wonderful time: glasnost, a real parliament, discussions with teachers, my report at a student conference that the 1996 referendum was illegal (and everyone supported it!). All this probably pushed me into politics.

— You came to the United Civil Party back in 1995, you were at the founding congress. How did you get there at 19?

“I was brought in by family friends with my consent. The people who gathered there are still iconic figures, including former Prime Minister Mikhail Chigir (a family friend of Anna Kanopatskaya. - Approx. TUT.BY). I have always been interested in politics. My classmates are now saying: "Anna, you wanted this from the first year."

Where did you work before you became the owner law firm?

- I went to work after the first course. First - not quite legally - to a pharmaceutical company, where she went from a “bring-give” girl to a lawyer. Then I wanted to go to another area - insurance. There I started working as a lawyer, and ended up as a deputy director. Seeing the disgrace that was going on in the insurance market, I thought that it might be valuable and useful to try myself in the civil service. I worked for two months in the Department for Supervision of Insurance Activities of the Ministry of Finance. Insurance companies they told me: “What a progressive and understanding person you are,” but my boss thought differently.

And then you decided to start your own business.

- In the company that I own now, I also came to work as a hired employee. And eventually became the owner of 90% of the shares.

— At a press conference, you said that you are engaged in economic and commercial law, including helping to attract investments to the country. Isn't this too complicated? There were so many cases when the state took assets "in the name of the revolution."

- Indeed, we do not have a guarantee of protecting investors - both external and internal. When a client comes to me, I cannot tell him with certainty whether his rightful case will win in court. Especially if the state is on one side, and the private trader is on the other.

- The last high-profile case where the state opposed a private trader was the Lakomka store. The private owner lost. The premises went to Kommunarka, which made repairs there and.

- The state should not be engaged in business. It has other functions - to ensure order, legality, fair competition. For this business pays money to the state in the form of taxes.

— What should be done first of all to protect an investor in Belarus?

— The first step is an independent court. No urgent employment contracts with judges should not be. A person who understands that his contract will end in a year or two, and he has to feed his family cannot be objective and independent. Our judges are appointed by the president. Most of them have official housing - they were besieged on all fronts. The position of a judge should be elective (by a professional community. - Note TUT.BY) and unlimited.

- I sometimes read in the news about very strange, from my philistine point of view, sentences. For example, colonies of enhanced regime. As a human being, I can't understand...

- For what? This is the independence of judges. Apparently, in this situation, the court went on about public opinion. If you look at sentences in high-profile cases and in ordinary cases, you will see a big difference. The courts are subject not only to the influence of the authorities, but also to the influence of public opinion.

— Anatoly Lebedko said at a press conference that you are going to submit dozens of bills to the parliament. Although the deputies of the last convocation: devoted all their time to finalizing the bills,.

- It is not normal. In the state, a single legislative body is the parliament. And now he performs a technical function under the Council of Ministers. It shouldn't be. Our team, using this mandate, will introduce bills. They are already prepared. I don't go empty-handed. I'm going with the team and the reform system.

The party that Kanapatskaya is a member of is headed by Anatoly Lebedko.

How did you find out about your victory in the elections?

- We have been joking about this since Friday, but I found out seriously at half past one on Monday night, when Lydia Yermoshina announced the results. I was aware that the elections were dishonest and non-transparent. It is very difficult to speak for the actions of third parties. There are no objective data. If we had observers in the district ... (at a press conference, Kanopatskaya emphasized that "if the elections were fair, we would certainly still be winners in them." - Approx. TUT.BY).

- For me, Tatyana Korotkevich, who was your competitor in the elections, is a more recognizable person.

— I know how many pickets I defended, how many meetings I held, how many campaign materials I distributed. I can say that as a person I was interesting to voters. Not everyone was supportive, but some people said: "You have earned for yourself, so you will earn for others."

- Yes, your income for the past year - almost 300 million rubles (old) - is impressive.

- I think that I will lose money when I come to parliament ( average salary deputy of the House of Representatives is 15-18 million rubles (old. - Approx. TUT.BY). I do not hide what I have good income. I have a car, an apartment, Vacation home. I have enough for the life that I would like to offer my constituents.

- But you. And that Belarusians are characterized by “dependent moods”.

- No. Our people want to live with dignity. And look, no matter how strangled these businesses are, they work. People want to work, but they also want to see the result of this work. People are tired of working for pennies.

- AND social guarantees need to save?

- Yes. But if the state creates successful conditions for business, if economic and political reforms take place, then any sane person with a head, hands and feet will be able to earn an apartment, a car and a pension.

- The newspaper "Narodnaya Volya" wrote in 2008 that your father refused to retire. It's true?

- Yes. When he saw the bill for the apartment, he realized that his pension would not be enough to pay for the housing that he himself had earned. He was very indignant. Now he already receives a pension, but for a year he tried to change the system to match his contribution. My father did a lot for this country. He was the first official dollar millionaire in Belarus (Anna Kanopatskaya's father is businessman Anatoly Trukhanovich, chairman of the Belarusian Union of Taxpayers. - Approx. TUT.BY).

- Did the family support your decision to go to parliament?

- Yes, father and son are the most supportive. Dad was indignant when rumors reached him that I had refused the mandate.

Are your children interested in politics?(Anna Kanopatskaya has a 15-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son).

- At school, my son somehow had an incident. At political information, my child spoke impartially about the president. They called me to school. Of course, it should not have been expressed, but we in the family believe that the current government is not the best for the country and it needs to be changed.

I like the old Soviet anecdote, when a plumber won the first place at a dissident competition, who came and said: “It’s not the faucet that needs to be changed, but the entire system.” We are in a situation where we need to change the system. And maybe we should start with the education system. I don't want to be called classroom teacher my child and forced to go to the Belarusian Republican Youth Union! I want him to be taught science.

“Teachers have an ideological burden, and the president does not deny this.

— I know how prestigious the job of a teacher is in Germany. What do we have? On the other hand, I understand that even 5 million salaries for them is a source of livelihood. It should not be. In economically developed countries, a doctor, teacher and lawyer are almost the highest paid professions.

Are you for free healthcare?

— I am a supporter of insurance medicine. Nothing is free in this world. You pay income tax, buy goods in stores and pay VAT. Our people have been deprived of the confidence that we support this state.

“But people don't want to pay for health insurance themselves, and employers say they don't have the money.

- The issue rests on the tax burden. Undoubtedly, legal entities should not carry it on itself in such a volume. A person who receives 100 rubles thinks that he has cost the company exactly this amount. But in fact, it costs the enterprise well if it costs 160 rubles.
