Multifunctional art space on 5 floors "(removed from the site).

"Floors" are located at the former "Smolninsky bakery", and this is a completely new project for our city.
Damn it, I've never been there (and I've already read books)), but people I know have been working there from the very beginning, and they promote, make exhibitions, etc.

In general, the very approach of the design of this room is very close to me, there is no home. This is what fascinates me in Europe, the ease of creation, the touches that change the very essence, and the magic and beauty of the old workshops / houses / and so on.

To create beauty and freedom out of practically thin air. The value of which is still little understood. That's what our design lacks. But for the] young and progressive it has already started ..

LLC "Loft-project" Etazhi "rented the second, third and fifth floors from the owners of the bakery former enterprise(about 2 thousand m2 in total). The leased area underwent minimal repairs, which can be called "conceptual", then the premises began to be subleased. Today, about 10 companies are already located on the floors, among them are the showroom of designer Leonid Alekseev, the office of a printing studio, and it is planned to place a catering point.

Gallery owner-architect
For the architectural, design and ideological component "Floors" is answered by a young architect, co-owner of the Architectural Bureau "Brothers Archipenko" Savely Archipenko... He also owns all the design ideas and the loft concept of the project. Savely Archipenko is not a co-founder of OOO Loft-project Etazhi, but on the fifth floor he rents most of the space. Bureau of Architecture and gallery "Globus". Savely Archipenko invested about $ 15 thousand in the opening of the gallery. He rents the area for the gallery from the customer on preferential terms... From here

Well, the idea itself, to make not just a business center, and not just a gallery, but to combine this and mix in such a delicious pot of the old production of buns.

Here are photos just from that "Marie claire Maison", from a Turkish photographer, where my mother's apartment is next.

Well, the very combination of luxurious designer lamps, and ...

You will be told that the elevator will take you all the way to the door, and this will be the pure truth. No, "Chaikhona No. 1", it turns out, did not occupy the entire floor. Yes, the new restaurant made it look good.

Vladimir Stebunov, chef:
“The style of serving dishes turned out to be“ kitchen ”: different pans right on the tables, casseroles, roughly chopped vegetables. I see some brutality in this. Now we have about 60-80 items (although there were 200 dishes in development), very soon there will be a separate children's menu and breakfasts. So far, our potential has not been fully revealed. Sanctions undoubtedly get in the way, but we realized that it is quite possible to cope. Such restrictions lead to interesting thoughts and solutions. If we draw a parallel with the Soviet Union, then in the 50s there was a flourishing of cinema, music, culture in general - the same thing here, we are waiting for an unusual development. "

The sign reminds of the merry name of the series, and the slogan refers somewhere to "Carlson" Astrid Lindgren. The location in the shopping center directly opposite the children's Happylon adds even more color and does not inspire confidence at first glance. But, getting inside, you quickly lose the presence of the mall behind the atmosphere of a well-created giant. The first thing that catches your eye is a flower shop, a cart with melons, a large number of lights. On the left hand stretches that very large kitchen, with many chefs and chefs. Moving deeper, you find a stage, framed by dark red cloth, along the kitchen - a kind of main street. The architectural idea was to reproduce the image of a noisy European square, with lanterns, many tables, a pizzeria and a wine bar. This is not to say that the idea was a success clearly - until we were told this, such comparisons did not visit me.

But in general, being in this atmosphere for a couple of minutes, everything becomes clear: "Big kitchen" - because the kitchen is really huge, and if you look closely, the "square" vaguely resembles place d'Armes in Luxembourg with overcrowded terraces and a stage in the middle, where the local mini-orchestra and the funk band play. The handwriting of the Archipenko brothers is recognizable. The decor is pleasant, although it seems modest - either against the background of the splendor of the neighboring Chaikhona, or because each of the details has already become familiar somewhere - both this white brick-like tile and these gray armchairs, almost like in Biblioteka on the second floor.

Mikhail Polezhaev, art director:
“On certain days when the restaurant is open, anyone who can sing well will be able to realize their vocal and artistic abilities - be it a professional opera singer or a law student. This is not karaoke, the applicants will still pass the musical selection. And the permanent band "Big Kitchen" will maintain the atmosphere of friendly bash. This idea was taken in Amsterdam, where various professional and non-professional vocalists perform in a secret place, and the audience never knows who will appear in front of them - the housemate or Lenny Kravitz, who secretly stopped by after the concert. "

You can look at the menu on a wooden cutting board for a long time - although it is not large, it is artistic. There are about 20 wine lines by glasses. Next to borscht and ribay there is, for example, empanadas, moussaka or cod "in Bak style". The positions of the dishes are mostly a-la-populaire different countries, but with a constant author's bias. From what surprised me the most - dumplings with venison and juniper, which I had a chance to taste here at the opening and remember for their brutal aroma.

Three facts about the restaurant

  1. The restaurant has its own observation deck, which will soon have observation binoculars. Anyone can go there for free, it is not even necessary to be a guest of the restaurant.
  2. The stage is open in the evenings from Thursday to Sunday. The format is different: from the open stage to the "Tavrichesky" orchestra.
  3. A separate space is dedicated to the "Venchik" children's club, where master classes related to cooking and restaurant professions will be held.

This time we came on Friday evening; the tables by the windows overlooking the small square in front of the Gallery and the rooftops over Ligovsky - everyone is busy. Mostly families and girls in dresses running to take selfies on the terrace. We sit down in the center of the hall, the waitress, after ordering, advises to climb to the observation deck along the green spiral staircase. The view, admittedly, is excellent, but by our return it turns out that the ordered vegetable casserole is no longer there, as well as the Millefeuille cake - they ate.

They bring a mix of salad with cheese roll. A large transparent bowl is half filled with different leaves, carrot slices, and chopped red cabbage. The cheese roll turns out to be a deep-fried tortilla with homemade cheese and pesto. Very satisfying, but the salad is clearly too much with onions.

We didn't have to wait long for the hot meal: the Aragonese lamb is brought in a large cast-iron pan, with carrot wedges and a baked head of garlic. Dish straight from The Lord of the Rings, not otherwise. They do not spare meat, in a portion there are three huge, moderately juicy pieces, cooked in a fashionable way in a josper. In the menu, the position is marked as spicy - garlic oil gives piquancy, which also serves as a sauce.

At the end of the evening, a Pecan cake with a scattering of blueberries, red currants and nuts is on the table. The dessert is very sweet, quite heavy, from American cookbooks. After that I want to buy a fitness subscription. A thin sandy substrate on its own may seem a little dry, but together with a juicy jelly filling, it is completely neutralized. The cake does not look like ordinary pecan biscuits, and the whole point in it is not the nuts spread out on top, but the taste concentration of this frozen pulp.

Meanwhile, some children jump off the stage while their parents finish their pizza, and from the back tables one hears the story of some lucky shoe purchase. By the way, the waiters also do not hesitate to leave the stage - apparently, the ladders on the sides did not find recognition.

The cheerful ideology of the project and its gigantic scale remind of a giant smiling at you. Desire Food Retail Group to make a restaurant with additions in the form of a stage, a children's club, an observation deck and everything else is very commendable, although they represent commercial populism. But Vladimir Stebunov's witty cuisine adds meaning to this whole story and claims that everything is more serious here. Only at the exit from the restaurant this overwhelming feeling breaks off, and you again find yourself in the shopping center. Does this mean that the snobs will not come here for a bottle of Chablis with trout tartar during sunset - I don't know, but nobody canceled the crowd at the twist-door door, as well as the completely unromantic crush in the elevator with surgical light. You can't get away from the mall format. True, the restaurant "Moskva" does not suffer from this especially, although in theory it should be offended - it looks lower and has already become boring. It's good that this restaurant was called “Big Kitchen”, and not some “Peter” - otherwise the confrontation would have become too obvious.

Why go

  • Have a hearty lunch after shopping at the Gallery. There are many places, prices are reasonable.
  • Take a selfie against the backdrop of the rooftops of St. Petersburg. The terrace and observation deck are above the average level of the buildings around (including where the competitors are).
  • Perform on stage. Or watch your friends perform.

», Which will start full-fledged work this summer. Compact office and retail outlets and a recreation area for citizens will appear on the pedestrian street. The authors of the project, brothers Savely and Egor Archipenko, talk about how the new public space will look like and why teams with different experiences are offered different rental rates.

The concept of the future pedestrian zone

The specially equipped containers in the courtyard of the loft on Ligovsky Prospect will house shops, offices and cafes. As the organizers promise, the first resident - the gastronomic project “Piece of Meat” - will start working on May 6-7. The list of future tenants is still being formed, however, it is known that the authors of the initiative intend to allocate one container for a children's area with a Cheburashka figure, where fresh juices will be prepared.

Savely Archipenko

There are several reasons why we all do this. Firstly, for the development of the territory of the loft project "Etazhi", namely its large courtyard. Secondly, as it seemed to us, now appeared high demand to public places, but no longer parks: the time has come for places associated with individual entrepreneurship and business.

The initiators of the creation and investors of a creative platform from containers were the loft project "Etazhi" and OJSC "Smolninsky bakery". We are personally responsible for design and architectural solutions.

We thought for a very long time how to implement our plans. We decided that great idea there will be a modular architecture: it allows you to have small areas that are easy to complete and which are easy to operate. The advantage of our project is that we can implement it in stages: within one and a half to two years, it will develop, and we hope it will exist much longer.

To create our street, we use 40-foot containers, 54 in total. They will be placed on two floors: the first will house shops, cafes, bars, and the second - offices. The containers will be of several types: glazed on three sides and half.

From a technical point of view, heating, lighting and ventilation are provided. All containers will be finished on a turnkey basis. Each tenant will be able to work in comfortable conditions and add their own decor elements at their own discretion.

Our project is for small creative businesses, we want to assist small local companies, start-ups and manufacturers in the city. You can rent a container in full, but you can only rent a third - 10 meters. We will also have three types of rent, which vary from 600 rubles to 2.5 thousand per square meter. In the first case, for novice entrepreneurs, the price is preferential and is valid for those who opened their first enterprise. From 1 to 1.5 thousand - for those who already have experience. And from 1.5 to 2.5 is the price for sustainable projects in which we are fully confident.

The Village Petersburg continues the rubric Appearance". Every week we ask our fellow citizens to take a photo on the street and tell them where they buy things and why.

Every week, the editorial office asks one of the acquaintances of St. Petersburg residents to take a picture on the street and tell what brands he is wearing, where he bought them and where he usually prefers to buy clothes. The new issue features Savely Archipenko, architect and creative director of the Loft Project Etazhi cultural center, photographed by The Village next to his office on Ligovsky Prospekt.

Savely Archipenko

34 years old, architect

With irony about appearance, makes casual purchases, loves flea markets, Japanese and Belgian designers and intelligent fashion.

On Savelya: Helmut Lang sneakers, LBD jeans, Yohji Yamamoto T-shirt and jacket, Galiano belt

About things

Helmut Lang Sneakers

The sneakers have attracted me from the very beginning: they look like they were demolished two centuries ago. I brought them from Vienna. The thing is unique, since Lang has retired. That is, the brand still exists perfectly, but Helmut Lang himself is no longer its head. In general, he is a brilliant artist, urban designer and master of combining precise cut and unfinished work. His pieces are very high quality and ironic at the same time. I don't think you can buy this brand in St. Petersburg now.

About shops in St. Petersburg

Periodically I visit Day & Night and Day & Night Lite, Comme Des Garcons and Maison Martin Margela. But I usually buy the last two brands abroad, since there is more choice and the margin is not so wild. Petersburg lacks art spaces camouflaged as shops - intellectual concept stores, intermediate between mass-market stores and expensive boutiques, with brands like Acne, Henrik Vibskov, Wood Wood, where you can come for inspiration. There are still not enough showrooms with young and non-trivial Russian designers.
