As you understand, this method also absolutely does not require a connection to the Rostelecom network, just access to the global web from any other operator is enough. Connecting STB to TV

Included with the Rostelecom TV set-top box are cables that will allow you to connect it to absolutely any TV - hdmi, "tulips" and an old SCART.

Connecting the set-top box to the router

There is no WiFi module on a standard STB receiver (not TV 2.0) and you can only connect a Rostelecom set-top box to a router via an Ethernet port. There he is:

With the very connection of devices with wires, there are no difficulties. They appear further when the user tries to set up Rostelecom television on the router to include an STB receiver in it. That is why I want to highlight this issue separately and in more detail.

Configuring the router port for a TV set-top box

You can’t just plug the receiver into any kind of connector on a router or modem - nothing will work. It must first be configured correctly.

As an example, I will consider one of the most popular routers - D-Link DIR-300. On other models, the web interface will of course be different, but the principle of action itself remains unchanged.
