We decided to investigate the situation on the spot - and that's what we managed to find out.

The discounter "Brusnichka" is the flesh of the flesh Euroopt is his child. And this, by the way, is interesting. Why did Euroopt suddenly need a new discounter brand, if for years it has been thrusting into our heads what is the most real, cheapest and correct - read the most socially-oriented D-I-S-K-A-U-N-T- E-R-O-M in our socially oriented state? You know, something went wrong in the Kingdom of Denmark, if you needed to bring another discounter to the market, this time already guaranteed the cheapest - according to the statement of the chief operational boss of Euroopt, Mr. Zubkov. This is great, but it IS UNDERSTANDING. Recently, having completed in general terms the blitzkrieg of conquering the world to build the largest trade network in the republic, and this time - having finished it with a victory, Euroopt allowed himself to slightly finish the games of social orientation and bare the animal grin of capitalism, imperceptibly raising prices to the mainstream - now only slightly differing in price from competitors - and not necessarily downward. For example, the author of this article almost managed to buy Duracell batteries for 13 rubles apiece in the Euroopt hypermarket, while the same ones were found in the neighborhood in Hippo for 9 kopecks. Well, this is understandable - the purpose of the business is loot, whoever says anything. And also from childhood they told us - "trust, but check!" This is probably why Euro-wholesale marketing admonitions "check out the price!" many, including your humble servant, have not caused anything but an ironic grin for a long time. Already the desire to run headlong to check out for sure.

However, their games are even more confusing - if you don't know yet - the prices in different Euroopts differ - and the prices differ even in hypermarkets, even those located in the same area, for example, in the Leninsky district of Minsk. Apparently, the cunning marketers of Euroopt have found the same moves to count the money in our pockets, thus determining the solvency of each particular plot.

And here, at this interesting turn of history, Brusnichka appears. Here she comes again, as they say) My try number 5 number 2.

Damn burnt, but what about the prices ?? - and then, you know, he threw a bodyagi, you say. Yes, what's the price?

At the end of August, new stores in the neighborhood format appeared in Minsk under the new name “Brusnichka”. This is a project of the largest retailer in Belarus - the Eurotorg company, which owns the Euroopt network.

Five stores were opened in Minsk in two days. Three more will open in the coming days shopping facility... Shop area new network will be in the range from 250 to 500 sq.m.

The general director of Eurotorg, Andrey Zubkov, said in a commentary to Onliner.by that Brusnichka is positioned on the market as a discounter, and for more than 90% of the goods presented in stores, prices are lower than those offered by competing chains.

According to him, the control service of the Brusnichka chain monitors prices daily in hypermarkets and supermarkets of all trade networks in Minsk and sets the lowest price for exactly the same goods.

Moreover, if a buyer finds a price somewhere in Minsk stores that is lower than in Brusnichtsy, he can inform about it - the next day the price for this product will be lower than that of competitors.

In addition to the low price, the discounter format assumes a very narrow assortment of products. However, in Belarus, MART established mandatory lists of goods to be included by traders in the assortment lists of goods for stores with a universal range of food products.

So, for example, for a grocery store with an area of ​​200-399 sq.m. it is necessary to have 3-4 types of milk, 4-5 - fermented milk products, 10-15 types of yogurt, 6-8 types of cottage cheese. You need to have 20 types of juices and 15 types of wine alone. In total, the minimum assortment of a store of such an area should be more than 580 SKU.

For a store with an area of ​​400-649 sq.m. this minimum increases by about 30%. So in such conditions it is hardly necessary to talk about a full-fledged discounter format.

What is a discounter

A discounter or a low-price store is a store with a narrow assortment and a minimum set of services for buyers, at fairly low prices.

The management of such a store is aimed at reducing costs due to the minimalist design of the sales area, simplified display of goods, reducing the number of working personnel, limiting the range of products that should be sold in large quantities at the expense of low prices.

The first low-price stores (discounters) appeared in Germany in the mid-1950s under conditions of relative economic stability and minimal inflation. Today, such stores account for more than 40% of the total turnover, while the profitability retail space in such outlets it is ten times higher than in traditional supermarkets.

Hard discounter It is characterized by savings in personnel, product layout (predominantly pallet layout), a narrow range of goods, mainly a consumer basket. A striking representative of the hard discounter format is the German Aldi.

Soft discounter- a store of low prices, self-service format, goods slightly exceeding the assortment of the consumer basket.

It is also reported that Brusnichka does not accept discount cards Euroopt does not participate in its advertising games.
