Incredible tanks from the Soviet era. The most unimaginable and strange tanks of all time Tactical and technical characteristics of Warm-T

Turbojet minesweeper TMT("Object 604") was intended for making continuous passages in mine-explosive obstacles during military operations by throwing two turbojet aircraft engines forward and to the sides of the ground with mines with gas jets. ROC for the creation of TMT was set by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated October 25, 1961. The prototype was designed in Omsk by the OKB-174 design bureau under the leadership of A.A. Morov and manufactured at plant No. 174 in 1962. The leading designer of the machine was A.A. Lyakhov. In the fourth quarter of 1963, the vehicle passed field tests. It was not in service and in mass production.

The minesweeper was created on the basis of components and assemblies of the T-55 medium tank. The layout of the machine provided for the presence of a control compartment, two compartments for turbojet engines, a compartment for fuel and MTO.

The crew of the vehicle consisted of a commander-operator and a driver-mechanic. It was located in the control compartment, which was located in the upper bow of the hull above the fuel compartment. The vehicle commander had a rotating armored turret. The control compartment was fenced off by armored walls with thermal insulation from two compartments for turbojet engines. In the lower half of the bow and middle parts of the hull of the minesweeper, there was a compartment for fuel. It installed two tanks with a total capacity of 1500 liters for jet fuel TS-1 and two fuel tanks for diesel fuel. The aft part of the hull was occupied by a MTO of a similar layout as on the T-55 tank with minor design changes. Pneumatic actuators were used to control the main clutch and PMP.

The body of the vehicle was made with a reduced thickness of armor plates in the bow up to 80 mm, sides - up to 45 mm.

The machine had special equipment for sweeping mines, which included two RPF-300 twin-shaft turbojet engines with nozzle devices. The gas jets of the running engines ejected all types of installed mines with the simultaneous development and removal of soil forward and to the side outside the passage. The minesweeper ensured the creation of continuous passages with a width of at least 4 m, during trawling the depth of development of soils with a sod cover reached 0.3-0.5 m, in the snow - 0.6 m. obstacles with pyrotechnic signs. The trawling speed was 3-4 km / h.

The minesweeper's undercarriage was also similar to the undercarriage of the T-55 tank. The only difference was the change in the location of the road wheels and the torsion shafts twist angles, caused by the conditions for ensuring a uniform load on the rollers.

The crew members had personal weapons (2 AK-47 assault rifles, 12 F-1 hand grenades and a signal pistol with rockets). The thickness of the armor of the upper frontal part of the vehicle body is 80 mm, of the lower one - 60 mm. The angle of inclination of both parts from the vertical is -55 °. The thickness of the sides is 45 mm. The nozzle body was protected by armor with a thickness of 20 to 60 mm. The car had two systems of fire fighting equipment. One system was the same as on the T-55 tank, the other for the fuel compartment was borrowed from aviation. The car was equipped with a PAZ system and TDA equipment. During the operation of the trawling installations, the control of the machine was difficult due to the high dust content. In this case, the GPK-48 gyrocompass was used to maintain a given direction of motion. The minesweeper installed the radio station R-113 and TPU R-120. The mass of the vehicle was 37 tons. The operational and technical parameters of the minesweeper practically did not differ from those of the T-55 medium tank. The average speed of the vehicle was 17-25 km / h, the fuel range was 130-190 km.

P.S. The same design bureau, on the basis of the ISU-152K self-propelled gun, developed the Object 606 turbojet minesweeper, which had the same special equipment for trawling with the Object 604 TMT. On this vehicle, the thickness of the hull armor plates was also reduced and the armored conning tower was redesigned. The mass of the minesweeper, which had anti-cannon armor protection, was 47 tons. The minesweeper's crew consisted of a commander and a driver. Diesel with a capacity of 382 kW (520 hp), ensured the movement of the minesweeper at a speed of up to 35 km / h.

Technological progress and incessant military conflicts have determined the creation of a fundamentally new type of weapon - military equipment... When humanity realized that the power contained in tons of steel was much more effective than anything the world had seen before, and was able to create such a weapon, the concept of war changed forever.

Since then, all the leading powers, without exception, have tried to invent the most effective, formidable and breakthrough weapons in all respects. Naturally, the achievement of this goal implied a huge amount of experimental work, the results of which were quite interesting and often unrealizable, for a number of reasons, projects.

Among them are a huge number of developments in the field of tank building, a field that, by and large, served as the starting point for the creation of all military equipment. Of course, Soviet engineers, being at the forefront of technological warfare, also sought to create the ideal combat vehicle. During the development work, a lot of interesting tank samples were developed - consider the most unusual of them.

TR-26Ts

The so-called tank tank, developed in 1936, was intended to deliver fuel to combat vehicles on the battlefield in conditions of intense shelling and difficult terrain. The machine based on the T-26 was equipped with a 1900 liter tanker instead of a tower, a hand pump for pumping and foam fire extinguishers. To resist enemy manpower, the tank was equipped with a DT machine gun.

T-34-85E

The tank, fundamentally different from all the technology that has ever been created, was conceived as a weapon capable of hitting the enemy with powerful directional electric charges... According to the idea, current charges of up to several thousand amperes could reach a target at a distance of up to 4500 kilometers. The car was assembled in a single copy in the early 50s, after which it was tested until the end of 1954. In the 55th, at the direction of N.S. Khrushchev's work was stopped, and the unique technique, which later received the nickname "Tesla tank", was destroyed.

Characteristics of T-34-85E:
Combat weight - 33.8 tons
Crew - 5

Reservations - hull forehead, side, feed 45 mm; the forehead of the tower is 90 mm, the protection of the reactor is 75 mm.
Engines - two electric motors powered by a portable reactor F-7-P

Warm-T

For any combat vehicle on the battlefield, mines or minefields are a huge danger. It was against them that a gas-dynamic minesweeper equipped with a turbojet engine, Progrev-T, was created. Despite the extremely threatening appearance, the car only directed the thrust of a powerful engine to the alleged minefield, while the mines and the so-called camouflage were blown away. One full tank made it possible to clear 6 kilometers of track, up to 12 meters wide, which ensured the safe passage of military equipment.

Warm-T characteristics:
Combat weight - 37 t
Trawling width - 10-12 m
Trawling speed - 1-3 km / h
Trawling reliability - 99%
Time of continuous work - 2.5 hours
Trawling mines to a depth of up to 20 cm (when using a ripper up to 50 cm)

The vehicle, nicknamed the "tank destroyer", was adopted by the USSR army in 1968. The IT-1 is the first and only mass-produced tank whose main armament was missiles. Despite the amazing accuracy of the vehicle, which, when hit, literally left no chance for enemy equipment, the tank remained in service for only three years. 110 IT-1 units were assembled. Large dimensions and weight, outdated hardware components, a large dead zone, and the absence of a tank gun caused the project to be closed.

Characteristics of IT-1:
The combat weight of the vehicle is 34.5 tons.
Main dimensions: length - 6.63 m, width - 3.3 m, height - 2.2 m, ground clearance - 0.435 m
The power plant is a V-55A diesel engine, power - 580 hp.

Object 279

One of the heaviest Soviet tanks was developed in the 50s. The tank was designed according to the classic scheme general layout... The original design solutions made it possible to obtain the smallest armor volume among all heavy tanks, amounting to 11.47 m³. Streamlined hull contours and thick armor, reaching 305 millimeters in the frontal part, provided the tank with reliable protection against all armor-piercing shells existing at that time at any firing range. At the same time, the car was extremely passable and stable. As conceived by the designers, this was to prevent the tank from overturning when exposed to a powerful shock wave. However, the heavyweight never went into production, and the only collected sample to this day is presented in the static exposition of the Moscow Region Armored Museum.

Specifications:

Dimensions: length - 10.2 m (without barrel 6.77 m), height - 2.5 m, width - 3.4 m, weight - 60 tons

Soviet minesweeper with a very unusual method of detecting mines. Designed to detect and sweep mines installed on paved roads.

On the basis of the chassis of the T-54 tank, a jet engine from the MiG-15 (VK-1) fighter was installed. A powerful jet of hot gases from a jet nozzle tore off a layer of soil from the road, exposing the mines disguised under it.

Story

The prototype of "Warm-T" was the airfield heat engine. It turned out to be not so difficult to make a minesweeper: on the basis of the chassis of the T-54 tank, they installed a jet engine from a MiG-15 aircraft, a ripper on top of the hatch, and also attached a voluminous tank of kerosene. It is not surprising that the guerrilla scouts first mistook the giant minesweeper's nozzle for the barrel of an unidentified cannon and panickedly informed about future problems. Tank "Warm-up" confidently walked along the Jalalabad-Asadabad highway, literally revealing all the traps of saboteurs. In a documentary presentation, it looked like this: "When a gas-dynamic jet is exposed to a road surface with a dilapidated asphalt surface, a strong ejection of rubble and soil occurs, after which all irregularities are clearly exposed ..." simple language, the crew simply tore off the camouflage cover from the mines "driven" into the rocky bed on the tracks. They appeared to the eye like bumps in a swamp.
After its Afghan debut, Progrev-T was included in the list of experimental military equipment ...
