§ 34. Electrician for maintenance of drilling rigs

Job Description. Maintenance of electrical equipment of drilling rigs, switchgears of electric motors with voltage up to 6 kV, voltage control stations, pump drives, winches and other equipment, control stations for the bit feed controller, electric powder brake of the tripping machine; maintenance of secondary switching circuits and relay protection: current, differential, etc. Maintenance of electrical equipment and drives with voltage up to 6 kV with automatic control. Acceptance of all electrical equipment and grounding devices of drilling rigs after installation, trial run of electric motors under the supervision of engineering and technical personnel. Checking and troubleshooting in complex circuits and devices of electrical equipment. Checking and troubleshooting in complex motor control circuits made on non-contact elements (with thyristor circuits). Adjustment and tuning of cells of thyristor converters of electric drives. Maintenance of electrical equipment of units with electric machine control systems with current and voltage feedback. Maintenance and repair of electric boilers. Repair of switchgears of electrical equipment of a drilling rig during well drilling and ensuring its uninterrupted operation.

Must know: technological process drilling wells for oil, gas, for the discovery of thermal, iodine-bromine waters and other minerals; fundamentals of electrical engineering, telemechanics and electronics; device and electrical circuits of electrical machines, devices, measuring instruments, automatic control and telemechanics; methods for testing electrical equipment, cable and air networks; a complete electrical diagram of the serviced object and each section of the drilling rig; rules for setting up and repairing complex electrical appliances, measuring, welding and power transformers, rectifiers, automatic control devices, including thyristor circuits for controlling pumps, winches, rotors and bit feeders; the principle of operation of converters and various types of generators; ways to replace individual parts of electrical machines and apparatuses in a drilling rig; calculation of the need for static capacitors to improve the power factor; rules for setting up and regulating the instrumentation used.

When drilling wells, where asynchronous electric motors with a power of up to 320 kW (inclusive) are used as the drive of the main units - 4th category;

when drilling wells, where DC electric motors, synchronous high-voltage motors or synchronous and asynchronous electric motors with a power of over 320 kW to 500 kW are used as the drive of the main units, - 5th category;

when drilling wells, in which DC and AC electric motors with a power of over 500 kW are used as the drive of the main units, - 6th category.

2.4. Checks and troubleshoots complex circuits and devices of electrical equipment, motor control circuits made on non-contact elements (with thyristor circuits).

2.5. Serves the electrical equipment of units with electric machine control systems with feedback by current and voltage.

2.6. Maintains and repairs electric boilers.

2.7. Develops measures to improve the power factor of electrical equipment under the condition of various modes and loads.

2.8. Repairs switchgears of electrical equipment of the drilling rig in the process of drilling wells and ensures its uninterrupted operation.

2.9. Knows, understands and applies the current regulatory documents relating to its activities.

2.10. Knows and fulfills the requirements of regulatory acts on labor and environmental protection, complies with the norms, methods and techniques for the safe performance of work.
