Internet connection via usb cable for android. How to turn on the Internet on a computer using a mobile phone. The classic PC way: connect using a USB modem

Articles and Life Hacks

This manual will tell you how to use the Internet from a phone to a computer via USB - using a data cable and the corresponding settings on the phone and on the computer.

Windows 7 will be used as the base operating system, the settings of which can be easily adapted to both earlier and older versions.

Configuring mobile device settings

  • First, you need to set a certain configuration for your mobile device;
  • You need to go to the settings section and there to the wireless networks section, enter the "Modem mode" and check the "USB" item;
  • Next, you should turn off the working network screens and connect the mobile Internet.

Date cable and driver

Now we connect the data cable to the mini USB port of the mobile phone and to the USB socket of the computer.

In this case, in most cases, the necessary driver programs will have to be installed on their own. Otherwise, they will need to be installed manually.

If everything is connected successfully and correctly, the screen will display a corresponding notification.

Configuring PC Settings

Next, you need to perform the setup configuration of the PC:
  1. To do this, go to the "Control Panel" ("Start" menu) and set its view to the "Large icons" mode;
  2. Then make an entrance to the "Modems and Phones" section, where a request may appear with a specification of the geographic location (here you can write anything and press confirmation);
  3. After that, the required directory "Modems and Phones" will become available, from which you can switch to the tab with modems;
  4. Here it is necessary to find in the proposed list the model of the used mobile device, which in this case acts as a modulation / demodulation unit, and by activating it, go through the "Properties" section;
  5. In the directory that appears, go to the section of additional communication parameters and write the following code in the initialization line there: AT + CGDCONT = 1, "IP", "internet";
  6. Now you need to close all open windows (OK) through confirmation, except for the main setting window, in which you should go to the "Shared Access Control Center", and from there to the "New network connection settings" by selecting the connection settings via phone;
  7. Then "Next" is clicked and the desired modem is selected from the proposed list, after which a form for entering data will open;
  8. Here you do not need to specify a password and username, but only the name of the operator used, as the connection name, and the phone number;
  9. Now you just need to activate the connection by confirmation and, after it has been successfully established, you can click on the network browse button, after which the default browser with a working Internet should open.
Everything. The connection to the network via the phone was successful.

On each individual phone, there may be software differences in the menu from those indicated in this manual, but they will all be intuitively similar.

If more than one SIM card is used on the connected phone, then the Internet connection will go from the card of the first value.

APN in the settings must be specified correctly, and the tariff must allow connection to the network.

Important! In this manual, we are talking about Android devices, that is, the methods of how to connect the phone to the Internet via a computer via a usb cable on another OS do not work.

Often a problem arises - there is no Internet on the phone and there is no way to use Wi-Fi, but there is a computer with a working network. This article describes a simple solution - wire connection.

All that is required is a USB cable, a wire to charge the device. No programs or complications.

Unfortunately, the iPhone and Windows Phone do not have a feature aimed at connecting to the World Wide Web. Of course, there are some programs aimed at creating a bridge between computers and devices with the above OS. However, this method does not affect this.

Connect your phone with a wire. It is worth making sure that the laptop recognizes the smartphone. If everything is in order, then upon contact, the PC will emit a characteristic sound, and the device will be displayed in the disk folder.

If the computer “does not see” Android, although the device shows a successful connection, then you need to install the driver. This program helps the PC to interact with the gadget. Be sure to look for a driver for your model, others, most likely, will not fit.

After installation, the phone will be displayed, but if this does not happen, then it is worth checking the serviceability of the cable and USB connector of the PC.

How to connect your phone to the Internet via a computer via a usb cable

Go to the Android gadget settings. In the first group of settings, select the "more" tab. Among the proposed items, you will need the item USB internet. Sometimes the name of the tab is different, but the meaning is the same. You need to enable this item.

Further manipulations with the computer will go. First, it's important to log into the Network and Sharing Center. It will be possible to go there, right-clicking on the web connections icon in the taskbar, usually on the right. If the button cannot be found, then there is an alternative option:

  • Start.
  • Control Panel.
  • Categories.
  • Network.

Then click the Network and Sharing Center. In addition to the main block of hyperlinks, there are several on the left side of the menu. Among them, you need to go directly to "Changing adapter parameters".

The open dialog box shows the active connections to the servers. The list of names also contains the Internet through which the PC itself works. Finding it is not difficult, wired or wireless. In addition, there is a web created by the Android device. Better to rename it.

Right-click on the connection icon related to the PC, go to the "Access" panel. Next, enable the function "Allow other users to use this computer's connection."

If there are three or more active networks on a PC, it will be mandatory to indicate specifically who is given access. It is important to select from the list of networks the one created by the smartphone and exit by choosing save.

Go to the properties of the smartphone network and in the window, without going to other tabs, double-click on "Internet Protocol version 4". The default fields will be filled with the set addresses. The first line will have to be changed to 192.168.0.1.

Most likely the address is different. In this case, first check the box next to "automatically obtain IP", exit, saving. Then go back to the properties, to the same protocol tab and enter the numbers indicated above in the first field.

Now, when you click on the second line, a different address is entered. If this does not happen, you must press the Tab key. Next, you need to close the window, saving the changes.

After all the operations, the phone will be successfully connected to the server. If you need to disconnect the cable and reconnect it, then the procedure will need to be partially repeated. But, given that it takes half a minute, it will not be difficult.

Hello everybody! Modern smartphones have a full range of wireless communications on board - primarily a cellular module and Wi-Fi. But how to connect to the Internet from your phone if you do not have Wi-Fi access or, for example, money in your account? But there is a computer with a wired connection nearby. Will it save?

How will it save! Yes, a smartphone can be connected to a computer, and through it - to the Internet. Such a task is rarely faced by current users (more often it is necessary the other way around), but it can be solved.

Consider below the two most common options today - Android and iOS. Forgive us Blackberry and Lumia owners, but "your tastes are very specific," so you will have to look for instructions on more specialized resources.

How to connect an Android smartphone to the Internet via a computer

Before you can connect your phone to the Internet via a computer, you have to provide both devices with an application that will bring out all the hidden settings. At one time, the leader in this area was the WiredTether application, which is still mentioned in many instructions walking around the network today. However, today, it is impossible to find it on Google Play. And copies saved on independent resources (like w3bsit3-dns.com) may not work with newer versions of Android. The last saved copy is dated January 2012.

We have found alternative ways to solve the problem. Reverse Tethering NoRoot Free is available on Google Play by Florian Draschbacher. Since it works on a client-server basis, you have to install it twice - on a computer and on a smartphone. The good news: it doesn't matter which computer you have on hand. The app exists for Windows, OS X and Linux.

For the computer part of the application to work fully, you will need to install it (if it is not already installed, the application itself will redirect you to the installation page). Then connect your smartphone and computer with a cable.

If the message “Allow USB debugging with this computer?” Appears on your smartphone, put a check mark in the right place and click “OK”. Likewise, if a firewall on your computer blocks the Java application from communicating with the network, you must allow the application to connect.

After that, the smartphone will use the Internet connection through the computer as soon as you connect it with a cable to the PC. Note that some applications may not recognize such a connection and behave as if the smartphone is offline. Then you should open the main window of Reverse Tethering, go to Settings, there in the Mode menu and switch between Mode 1 and Mode 2. The developer does not explain the difference between these two modes, but promises that switching between them helps ... Another way is to disconnect and reconnect the cable.

Of course, you ask: “How to install an application on a smartphone if it does not yet have an Internet connection? Maybe first think about how to connect your smartphone to the Internet via a computer? " There are two answers to this question:

1) Download the installation file to your computer from third-party sources (for example, apkmirror). Then copy it to your smartphone via USB cable and run. We assume that the computer is at your fingertips and is connected to the Internet, and there is also a cable - otherwise there is no point in the whole undertaking.

2) Install the application on your smartphone in advance, without waiting for an emergency. It takes up little space and does not consume system resources until it is started. But you can download the computer part when the roast rooster arrives, so to speak.

The application is not officially Russified, but you will not need a particularly deep knowledge of the language of Shakespeare and Lennon.

On the other hand, the free version only provides you with a periodic connection - 10 minutes, then a half-hour break. To enjoy constant communication, you need to buy the full version for 6-7 dollars: the instability of the course does not allow you to say more precisely. Alternatively, find on third-party resources (we will do without links, not small ones) already "cured" version, which is also translated into Russian. There you can also ask for advice in case of problems.

How to connect iPhone to the Internet via computer

And in this case, too, the opposite problem is often the case - usually they connect a computer via a smartphone, but we need it the other way around. The owners of "apple" technology were less fortunate: in principle, such painless methods as on Android are not provided. This does not mean that there are no solutions. This means it will be difficult.

Before connecting your iPhone to the Internet via a computer, you need to make sure that Wi-Fi is at least on the computer. This is a fairly common case: perhaps, in the place where you are, there is no router, but a laptop with a built-in Wi-Fi module acts as a computer, or somewhere in the box there is a "whistle" connected via USB.

In this case, distribution from a computer via Wi-Fi will help. Since the ad hoc mode was removed in Windows 8 and later, before distributing the Internet to the phone through the computer, you will have to install the program for the access point mode. We recommend the app. Having installed it, you can easily create an access point on your computer, which you can later find from your iPhone.

All this, of course, is useless if the computer lacks Wi-Fi or if the wireless module in your iPhone is out of order. In this case, however, everything is also not hopeless.

You can try the method proposed in 2015 by Eric Ma for using the Internet on an iPhone from a Windows computer.

  1. Open the network connection settings (Networks and Internet / Network Connections), select the adapter from the list of equipment through which you enter the network. Right click on it and select Disable. Leave the window with the list of adapters open.
  2. Connect your iPhone to your computer with a cable. Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned off.
  3. Go to the iPhone in the settings section, in the "Modem mode" tab. When you see a pop-up notification asking you to either turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth or use a USB tethering, choose to use USB.
  4. At this point, the computer should detect your iPhone as a new network adapter and display it in the list of adapters. Right-click on it and put both checkboxes in the "Shared Internet Connection" item. Turn on the services you need in the "Services" menu.
  5. Reconnect the adapter you are using to access the Internet.

To make sure that you are using the Internet through a computer, you can use the Internet (internet.yandex.ru). The ip of your computer and the iPhone must match.

This method seems simple and logical, but it does not always work. Among the many combinations of Windows and iOS versions, not all support the distribution of the Internet with such a simple method. To find out if your computer is paired with your phone, you just have to check.

But if not, do not despair (a snide laugh should follow). There is a way to connect to an Ethernet network without a computer at all! True, for this you will need an incredible combination of cables and adapters:

  1. Camera Connection Kit. Connects to iPhone's Lightning port
  2. USB cable. Connects to the Camera Connection Kit and to a USB hub (always with external power supply)
  3. USB hub. External power is required. A USB cable from the Connection Kit and an adapter are connected to it (see below)
  4. USB to Ethernet adapter (made by Apple for the Macbook, which recently lost its own Ethernet port). Connects to the hub.
  5. Ethernet cable. Connects to the adapter and to the port of the router.

Voila! There are only five components that you found by some miracle (or you prepared yourself, like Phileas Fogg in the cartoon "Around the World in 80 Days"). The total cost of this kit is about $ 70-80 (considering that standard Apple adapters cost $ 29 each, and you will need two of them). And you connect to the Internet without using external Wi-Fi! Honestly, looking at this design, you begin to understand why Chinese manufacturers at the beginning of the tablet fever often offered tablets with a built-in Ethernet port.

Summing up, we can say that, in principle, the problem of connecting an Android or iOS device to the Internet through a computer can be solved. True, in each case there are nuances that can cost time or money. Therefore, either think about whether you need it (and then have all the necessary applications and a set of adapters with you), or tune in to your own searches. Perhaps you will discover more interesting and easier ways.

Mobile Internet is still quite an expensive and slow way to connect to the World Wide Web. Therefore, using it as the main Internet connection for a desktop computer is rather inconvenient.

However, there are times when there is simply no other option. For example, during a vacation trip or a breakdown of the main Internet provider. In such cases, you have to resort to using the mobile Internet. In this article, we will tell you how to connect your computer to the Internet via your mobile phone.

The easiest way to connect a computer to the Internet via a mobile phone is to use the Hotspot function. Most modern smartphones have this feature.

After turning on the "Access Point" function, your mobile phone will start working as, creating a Wi-Fi network with access to the Internet. In order for the Internet to work on your computer via a mobile phone, it is enough to connect to this Wi-Fi network.

It should be noted that using the "Access Point" function has a number of disadvantages:

  • Not every mobile phone supports this function. As a rule, only advanced smartphones provide this opportunity.
  • Using the Hotspot function will drain the mobile phone battery more quickly.
  • Using the "Access Point" function leads to an increased consumption of Internet traffic.
  • To connect to an access point, a Wi-Fi module must be installed on the computer.

Mobile phone as a modem

The second way to connect a computer to the Internet via a mobile phone is to use the mobile phone as a modem. Unlike "Access Point", this method works with most modern mobile phones.

Since this method of connecting to the mobile Internet is rather complicated, we will consider it step by step.

Step # 1. Connect your mobile phone to your computer.

Connect your mobile phone to your computer using a cable or. After connecting, install the program to synchronize your mobile phone with your computer. This can be Nokia Suite if you have a Nokia phone, or Samsung Kies if you have a Samsung phone. If the set with the phone came with a CD with drivers, then install them as well.

After connecting and installing all the necessary programs, the modem of your mobile phone should appear in the Device Manager.

Step # 2. Create a new Internet connection.

Once you have connected your mobile phone to your computer you can start creating a new Internet connection. To do this, open Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center.

In the "Network and Sharing Center" window, click on the "Setting up a new network connection" link.

After that, you will see the "Network Connection Establishment" window. Here you need to select the item "Setting up a telephone connection" and click on the "Next" button.

In the next window, you must specify the dialed number, username and password. This data will be used by the modem to connect to the Internet. To find out your dialed number, username and password - contact your mobile provider.

After entering all the data, click on the "Connect" button. If you did everything correctly, then your computer should be connected to the Internet.

Sometimes the user is faced with the task of distributing the Internet from his computer to a mobile device, a tablet or smartphone based on the Android OS. What is so difficult about this? - probably ask the question you, you just need to connect to a wireless Wi-Fi network and business then. And if there is no wifi router itself, and this must be done via a USB cable. It is with such a task that difficulties arise, but it is quite solvable.

How to connect Android to the Internet via a computer using a USB cable

If there is no wifi router nearby, and the speed of EDGE or 3G does not suit you, then you just need to connect Android to your computer, and so let's get started.
